ECPO Launch Event
Introducing ECPO
We are excited to share the Early Careers in Prosthetics and Orthotics research network (ECPO) which officially launched on the 3rd of September 2026.
ECPO is a spin-out organisation from the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Prosthetics and Orthotics and aims to build upon the previous success in development, networking, and collaboration the CDT achieved across the UK prosthetics and orthotics sector.
ECPO is open to individuals from any background who are interested in prosthetics and orthotics research, and are keen to provide an inclusive space for those early in their research career across universities, clinical settings, and industry to interact and collaborate with like minded individuals.
During the launch event, ECPO President Nicolaas Pickard and Vice-President Leen Jabban, outlined the vision for ECPO, particularly highlighting the planned events for the next 12-15 months. This includes monthly informal coffee networking mornings, quarterly seminar series to showcase the research of ECPO members, and potential skills sessions.
